Really we are. I promise I'll get better at updates. But we're here, alive & well. Lamenting the direction our football teams are heading towards, but alive and well nonetheless! :)

out of the mouths of babes...
At 17 months, Jonathan is quite the chatterbox! A lot of it doesn't make sense, but he has a prety good vocabulary and he can get his point across pretty easily. He understands everything you ask him to do, too. I just love watching this kid...he is seriously the coolest thing around!
Here's what he says now:
*pi (pineapple)
*pop (yogurt, because of the little burping noise it makes when you open it)
*coke (any kind of soda can is coke to him)
*cook
*cake
*mama
*papa (Matt)
*nigh nigh (night night)
*gookie (cookie)
*cacker (cracker)
*boobie (when he wants to nurse)
*oh crap
*uh-oh
*fow (throw)
*ball
*baby
*uff uff (when he sees a dog)
*kitty
*Eye-uh (lila the dog)
*cuck (truck)
*car
*buh bye
*toe
*mun (moon-kind of like the oo sound in book or cook)
*gecko
*bubble
*hat
and last but not least, Matt's favorite buck-EYE (with the emphasis on EYE).

OSU 2-0
They ran over Youngstown State. They barely hung on to defeat Ohio University. What will happen next week at USC? We're a little nervous about that game-but hoping that Beanie Wells will be back to help lead us to a victory. That would sweeten the heason & (hopefully) pave the way for Beanie to be this year's Heisman winner. No offense Tim Tebow, but we prefer to keep the only two time Heisman winner at Ohio State.

YES, I am still breastfeeding!
Yes, I am still nursing my son. He's 17 MONTHS old, not 17 YEARS old. I have the full support of my family. I'm amazed how people think it's odd that I'm still nursing, and how quick people are to make comments about it. My kid, my choice. If I was a SAHM, it might be a different story. But I work FT, so this is my way of reconnecting with him, and relaxing after work.
And while I'm on my little tangent:
*yes, we vaccinate our son
*yes, we circumcised our son
*yes, we co-sleep with him.
*We don't believe in CIO
He's a happy, healthy, bright, confident, amazing little boy and I just wish people would stop offering their thoughts on what we should or shouldn't be doing as parents. I find it odd that people we don't even know feel like it's their job to convey their feelings, or act like we're terrible people for vaxing/circing our son. No decision we make is done lightly, and we do what we feel is best.
I feel much better for getting that out! (and a disclaimer: this was not directed at anyone specific, it's just going through my head and I wanted to blog about it.)

I've Finally Done It.
I've joined the land of blogging. I am going to try to update this on a regular basis, and give you all a little insight into what's going on with us. It only took 17 months to start a blog, which is something I originally planned to do when Jonathan was born. That didn't work out so well. So going forward, I'll try not to be such a slacker. :)
